H 3-Point Adapter Hydraulics

I am considering installing a 3-point hitch adapter on my 51H. I can get a very nice double cylinder unit that still allows the drawbar to be used. Does anyone have, or know of, a good hydraulic schematic and/or installation photos that I can use to plumb the unit in the simplest manner possible.

Use a open center two way hydraulic valve. Plumb the right side Liftall elbow to the input of the new valve. Connect the exhaust (return line) to the drain of the Liftall (in the bottom, use a T and short nipple to allow draining) connect one lift port to the bottom of the new cylinder/s, and the lower port to the top of the cylinder/s. To run the system you pull back and fasten the original lift all rod so the pump pumps through the new valve. It can stay running all the time. Jim

If you don't want down pressure, and most factory 3pt hitches do not have down pressure, the plumbing couldn't be any more simple.

Run a hose from the front port on the left side of the belly pump to the bottom port on the left 3pt hitch cylinder. Run a hose from the only port on the right side of the belly pump to the bottom port on the right 3pt hitch cylinder.

Or, run one from either port to the back, tee it off to the cylinders. Mine is this way, except I have a quick disconnect where it
tees off to be able to use drawbar equipment. (Although I dont have anything anymore that attaches to the drawbar.)

I want to make sure I understand your instructions. Are you describing the hookup for 2-way hitch cylinders or lift-only cylinders (1-way). I think the ones that come with the adapter kit are 1-way units. If lift-only, won't a 1-way open center valve work? Are all 3 elbows from the belly pump (1 on right and 2 on left) pressure outlets?

Your cylinders will most likely be 2 way cylinders. Using the elbows on the belly pump will work fine, but you will not have any down pressure. You will have to count on weight to lower the cylinders, which isnt a big deal if something in mounted to the 3pt. You put a filter on the other port of the cylinders.
