Now I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if there's already a thread on this.... So I have an Rd 501 that is coming out of an old potato bin R 190 truck and I'd like to stuff it in a McCormick deering w 40. Are these the same rear bolt pattern as the older fb models? If not, what would it take and how much power can these old tractors hold?

Its not hard to do. The truck bell housing is the same bolt pattern onlu bigger bolts . Must use the tractor flywheel . A little more sizing of holes there too. The fb front cover must be used and one hole
carefully drilled in block. I havent noticed any weakness in the tractor drive train at all. I had to mess with getting a governor to work on the reversed truck manifold and different than the Zenith K5 carb.
I put on a carb with a fuel pump in the carb to eliminate starvation on goose. This was with a 450

Now there aren't any differences externally between the 450 and 501 block right? All the plates line up bolt wise?

I got this one sitting out back, original motor stuck, on rear 38 inch cut offs, rims good, 2750. Austin Mn

I had 450 in couple road tractors. Mine had external fuel pumps. Never heard of one with internal fuel pump. Also what do you mean by goose?

I should have said accelerator pump as in carb with. Goose meant when you open the throttle fast accelerator pump will reduce responce time and stumble. I made mine look stock woth a different updraft carb not the down draft that was on the truck engine

The blocks should be identical .I forgot to mention that the crank nose will have to be turned down to fit the tractor front cover and pulley and I'm sure there is more. With the front cover you will also get to use the gov and magneto. The most difficult part I had was the manifold. I used the truck manifold turned upside down and the bolt pattern was then upside down so I made an adapter plate between the head and manifold
