Since now my "H" is complete- Im looking to buy a IH W30 - which was my dads first tractor in 1945 when he came home from the war. My brothers and I grew up on this tractor for years; my question is - the one I am looking at - 1937 - has "solid" wheels ; how hard is it to find a set of rear "spoke wheels" for this tractor? Thanks!

Sorry guys- I messed up on this post. After calling the guy about his W30 for sale he said the rear wheels have "weights over the spokes"....sorry again. Thanks.

A W-30 is a great tractor -- once you get used to the left-foot clutch. It has a lot of power and simple to work on.

I ran a post today on Tractor Talk....about the value of a w30= did u see this? Looks like no one wants to answer me!

The most honest answer, probably not the most popular. It is worth its weight in scrap. The rest of it's value is nostalgia and what your willing to pay. I bought a running 28 regular at a tractor auction with 85 tractors. Big crowd spending big bucks on 50's tractors. When the 28 was driven into the ring they hunted for bids for awhile, so I started it and was the only bidder. running 28 regular on rubber with an overdrive. The overdrive is worth twice what I paid for the tractor! At that sale, if it didn't have an electric start it was all they could do to get a bid, I should have bought 4 or 5 other pre 39's that day!

Really - I thought the pre 39's would be collectors items....This tractor isn't worth $500? Hmmmm...he is wanting $1500- running but needs restored. So what is the top 10 most collectable- in your opinion?
