FARMALL A SEAT

Hey guys, I was looking at an A the other
day and I noticed that it didn't have the
leaf spring seat setup but it had a pivoting
pipe with spring and shock kind of like my
M. I looked it up and found pictures of
both and was wondering if it's year specific
or if there was a reason for the difference.
I'm a big guy and i liked the idea of leaf
springs looks more comfortable, can they be
switched out? Thanks, Anthony

All A, B, BN, & Super A's had the leaf spring seat from the factory.

The seat with the shock is an aftermarket change.

Yep as Red said it is an after market seat. That said I may have a seat on a Parts B I would let go of

Several after market seats were made for the A and Bs. Yours is the best riding one if you dont mind loosing the area on the floor pan. Does yours have the cut-out for the belt pulley and then uses the I-H bracket on the right side mounting to the diff housing .

If the shock is original look and see if it is a Monroe. Monroe made the "Easy Ride" aftermarket seat. The rubber bushings that the seat pivots on wear out and that makes for a rough ride. I'm pretty sure this site sells replacement bushings. If not here then other suppliers have them for sure.
