47 Super A Magneto trouble

Hi All
I'm getting a weak and intermittent spark so Lucy won't start. This is my first Magneto tractor so I'm not sure where to start. She ran fine 4 weeks ago, now I need to
mow and no go. Troublesome red head! Plugs and wires obviously but after that? Thanks

there is a set of points and a condenser, inside the mag. probably need to drag something through the points, to clean them. uh, after sanding, pull a folded dollar bill through the closed points or spray with a bit of ether, while holding points open. this clears any grit, and grease that may be left behind.

Next silly question... How do I get the condenser out? I've taken the top(?) off as it sits on the tractor, the 4 screws that hold on the cover that the center distributor wire comes out of. I can see it but can't figure out how to get it out and don't want to mess things up. I have removed the screw that holds the wire on the outside of the case...
There appears to be a fair amount of rust around the condenser and the gasket looks like it is too small for the cover.

Take the mag off the engine as there are 2 screws holding a small plate where the condenser comes out. Cleaning the points may do it for you. Try that 1st.

Cleaning the points didn't do it. Replacing the points didn't do it. New wires and rotor didn't do it. finally got the condenser out; took the mag off and there was no small plate held on by two screws, there was a hole filled with rtv caulk! Gotta love it. After digging it all out I replaced the condenser and still no improvement. I put a spark checker in the wires and get a good spark for the first one or two sparks only then the spark gets real weak. From what I'm reading the only thing left is the winding coil correct? There was a fair amount of rust inside the mag as a gasket was missing and the rtv caulk didn't stick well plus the lower flange has a bad crack in it so I think I'm better off getting a rebuilt mag at this point, yes?
Thanks for the help
