Farmall 300 front hydraulic question

Just bought a 300 and it has a almost brand new Woods 72" belly mower. Currently the front cylinder won't raise/lower the deck. Guessing there possibly is an air lock somewhere. Should I just check the Hydraulic fluid level and work the lever back and forth? Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried lever both ways? Could be
set single action. Are your couplers good?
Although bad tips cause more problems on
pressure and flow compensated systems such
as a Magnum.

To add.. Not familiar with the Woods mower set up you say "front cylinder" does that mean there is a back cylinder? (Really wouldn't think a mower would need two cylinders) If so I would hope you know that the rear remote would use a different lever than the ones in the middle of the tractor under the gas tank. The single action setting is changed by the round stubs with flat sides that stick up through the hood inboard of the hyd remote levers. Does this tractor have a fast hitch and how many remote levers does it have?

Well it isn't "fixed" yet was raising and lower Tuesday when I brought it home. Went to try it out yesterday and it will raise the deck but it won't lower the deck. There is a single hose going into the cylinder. Going to check the hydraulic fluid level and bleed more out.

As far as the remote levers it has 2. There is a single cylinder mounted to the middle of the tractor frame that moves a camming arm to raise/lower the deck.

And doing some reading that is my problem it is a single action cylinder not a double action. So think I'll buy a new cylinder and fix my problem
