Maximum bore of a Farmall 450 C-281

45Farmall M

I have a 450 block sitting around and want to put it in my M. I was considering boring the M block but it's a 1945 so its cast thinner, in other words useless to bore out. Just wondering how big I could bore the 281 block and be able to put another IH piston in. I am on budget but just seeking advice. Thanks.

Those engines use replaceable sleeves so you wouldn't be doing any boring, unless you're trying for something exotic. If you're going for something exotic, I doubt you'll find an IH piston that will fit.

The stock bore on the sleeves is 4-1/8".
