560 Farmall hytrans leak

I have 560 Farmall and it is leaking hytrans oil from the bottom of the bell housing case right under the filter. There is a hole under the bottom where it is comeing from. what does it need to be fixed?
Thanks Randy

I can't help you Randy but mine is doing the same thing. Seems to only leak after I have run it a while and stopped the engine.

That hole is a drip hole to allow oil from leaking TA or IPTO shaft to escape. A look in ta through the top little cover would tell you which is leaking. Single split to repair if pto and double if TA. If it is not getting into TA clutch and not leaking much, I would ignore it for now anyway.

Here are a few pictures of a cut-a-way that I made. I had this unit at RPRU last week in Des Moines. If you have oil dripping from the hole on the bottom of the housing there are three seals that could be leaking. Or one of the three.

(quoted from post at 20:38:53 06/23/17) Sorry I was talking where was the seals?

Here is a picture that I did a little fancy artwork on.
#1 seal is in the housing around the outside of the TA carrier.
#2 seal is used to seal the input sun gear to the TA carrier.
#3 seal is in the housing sealing the IPTO input shaft.

I hope this helps.

Will oil be in the middle compartment? Or is that a dry clutch I see? And will I have to split the tractor in 2 places? And will I have to take the top plate off to change the seals? And yes it is very helpful, And I appreciate it very much.

Randy, If you have oil leaking from the bottom drip hole, it's coming from one of these three seals. The TA clutch is in the DRY compartment, that's why there are holes in the bottom to allow the oil to leak out. To see which seal needs replacing, remove the top cover and look in at the areas where the seals are with a good bright light. If the IPTO #3 seal is leaking it can be done with a "Front split" If the leak appears to be coming from the other two seals, both splits will be necessary to replace all the seals. Let me know which seal (s) are leaking and I can advise you from there. As you get into the repair I will be able to provide you with the SKF part numbers for the seals. Charlie U

Mine don't have nothing in the middle compsrtment but a shaft running threw it. the leak is on the left compartment where that shaft goes in the housing. Thanks
