I spent the day at the Red Power show at the Iowa state fairgrounds in Des Moine. Hundreds and hundreds of original and restored IH and Cub Cadet tractors. Great show. Unfortunately, the forum presentations left some to be desired, but the tractors were really great. Very enjoyable day!

Give the presenters a little slack. They probably don't do a lot of presentations or public speaking. How many of them were farmers? You don't do a lot of lecturing to large crowds on a farm.

I guess the main problem I had with the two presentations I heard yesterday afternoon is that the presenters didn't stick to the subject in the program, so I didn't hear what I expected and came for.

I farm part time and I hold down a regular job. I have to do some public speaking and some presentations for that job. I am not in my comfort zone doing those, but again, that is all part of the job. I have had audience members derail my presentations at times, which takes time to deal with them and try and get back on track. This "throws off my game" when I am under some tight time constraints. I don't mind groups of up to 10 to 15. More than that number, I tend to get a bit on edge. I will add one further comment. In my own experiences, technical people seem to NOT like public speaking, from what I have seen.

I thought, Not Just Blowing Smoke, guy was petty good, he was down to earth and told it, just like it was, how he learned the trade, etc.
