Just left the RPRU nice show. But a few warnings be prepared to walk a lot. First show I've been to where the earlier you arrive the farther away you park. And a tip for show organizers, SHUTTLES. Only one and it's slow.

Thanks for the post I am glad I canceled and decided not to go. I disagree with the $10 dollar or whatever fee to get in we should be able to bring our kids and grandkids there to enjoy history and use the funds to buy them ice cream a toy there or something else these planners don't think out everything the way they should. I will continue to go to the free shows

One of the better roundups I have been to. Can't say much for the cub cadet display and the engine display is even less. Plenty of tractors and implements. The $10 entry is ok I think. On the negative side in this hot weather $3 for a bottle of water is outrageous. In this heat the water should be free!

That's the biggest and nicest fairgrounds I've ever been to. I'd like to see the fair when it's there. Tractors were a little spread out I don't know if it was the layout of the buildings or the construction going on. I've always felt that at events like this a charitable organization like the scouts should be able to sell the water for a modest price.

Yeah I thought it was pretty stupid that I arrived early and had park at the very back of the lot.

Yes plan on alot of walking! I think some of the exhibits are spaced out a bit much, but the majority of it is grouped together pretty well.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find many shows that are free anymore...especially one of this size. The Good Guys car show at the fairgrounds over July 4th weekend is over twice as much just to get in. You have to remember they probably have to pay something for use of the grounds and utilities, plus all the coordinating...I am sure there is alot that goes into it! Is the IA chapter 5 club making a profit, yes but I doubt they are cashing in.

Just my opinion... I thought it has been a very good show so far and I'll be there again Friday and Saturday (exhibitor).

There were water bottles on ice in big tubs at every outside food booth I saw. It was free or else my buddy and I drank about 18 dollars worth of 3 dollar bottles for nothing!

I spent 10 hours at RPRU today, i'm sure i missed something but everything was terrific. High crops, FWA's, old cars and trucks, implements, every H and M imaginable. Clones, hybrids, conversions, beautiful paint jobs - lots and lots of tractors. Cold a/c in the buildings, what else do ya need? oh parts? you bet new and used. A perfect show if you ask me.

Agree
, how would you ever expect a show like this to be free.

This old iron stuff doesn't need anything fancy plenty of
farmers and places be glad to host for free if the general
Public wasn't such pigs would be easier to make happen

I'm not sure where you think the money to pay for the use of the fairgrounds would come from if not admission.

Does anybody know for sure that the 2019 RPRU is going to be in Bloomsburg PA? I see that listed on one of the IH collector sites. If so I've got to start shopping for a golf cart so Dad and I can go.

I've been to 6-8 Red Power Round-Up's and dozens of other tractor shows. Paid my admission fee and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I can't remember a single tractor show of any kind in the last 20 years that didn't charge admission. In my opinion, you get what you pay for! If the organizing company doesn't charge admission, who better than the organizers to know what their show is worth! No admission fee, then stay home.

You want to have good shows then pay the admission. The admission is what makes these shows happen. The free shows are starting to dry up due to the extremely high cost of liability insurance that is needed for and event like this to take place. If your to cheap to spend a few dollars in admissions that is used to support the clubs and allow these nice shows to continue then find a new hobby. I along with my friends will gladly pay the admission to continue going to nice shows the free shows aren't even worth the money in gas to drive there let alone haul anything in. $3 a bottle for water is outrageous and that shouldn't be allowed, I agree the scouts and local chuck groups should be the ones doing alot of the concessions at reasonable prices.

Your to be commended, With the heat and all the walking 4 was my limit. A great show well worth the 10$ admission. Had two shuttles going today. Good thing, not sure I could have made it to the car. lol gobble

A few more shuttles would have been nice especially if they made a larger loop through the parked cars. The wife and I enjoyed the majority of the show but found that when you saw seventeen of the same model they all merged into one and that became a little boring. I did get some used parts resonable. Where I had a problem is the food line was too long when my diabetes swung and could not get food fast enough and the heat made it worse. Also no place to sit so we bailed out and went home. I know we missed some things but had been there three hours. Was hoping to be there longer but had to leave.

Four of us spent 5 hours on Thursday and another 4 hours today. This was the fourth Red Power I've attended and it was good. I agree that those that came early should have been able to park closer to the gate than those that arrived later. I also thought more than one shuttle should have been provided. I enjoyed the food vendors in South Dakota, many of them were local organizations, not the professionals that set up at the state fair. There were nice air conditioned buildings to view vendors and exhibits as well as seminars to attend. All in all, I thought The Iowa chapter did a good job.

How bout I KICK you there so hard you taste my boot? Don't start something you ain't going to finish!

Your grand kids would have been free if you had brought them. Cub cadets were in at least three different places. If you could not find a seat you were just in the wrong spots, lots of food vendors and a lot of seating at most of the places(not all). If you go to a RPRUP just rent a cart or bring your own,the show is just too big and strung out(not a contemplate just facts). We stayed in the camp ground and if I had to walk the show I would have turned around at the gate and went home. BTW, the auction started at 9:00am, and they sold the last tractor at 4:00pm.

I brought 5 tractors to the show and stayed up in the campgrounds. I thought the show was very well organized, and the amount of all Exhibits was one of the best by far! I really liked how there was something new to see around every corner.

I met a lot of really nice folks from around the country who enjoyed the show as I did. There was ample room to load and unload tractors on the west end of the fairgrounds which made it very efficient for us exhibitors. The shade trees and air contioning was also a plus!

I attend the Iowa State Fair every year and know where the water fountains are at, so I never bought water, I just filled up my water bottle.

I hope everyone got home safe!
