Behlen Power steering

Can you get parts for these from anywhere or a shop that services them? I can find parts manuals but no place lists any parts. My unit was working pretty good until about a month ago and oil started leaking around the shaft.

I'll check that out. I also searched and found that "Steel Wheel Ranch" in Everest Kansas at one time worked on these. Since they are a lot closer I might try them first.

I called a salvage yard near me and they said they would trade my leaking unit for one of their good(? - they hoped it would be good) units for $150. Then they said in the past they have had units rebuilt by a one of the last IH dealers "near" me (40 miles) that hasn't been consolidated. I called them and they had the rebuild kit (with the multi colored seals) on the shelf - along with a guy that has rebuilt several. Deferring to their advice they said attempting to only replace one seal or O ring would probably result in the other seals leaking after taking apart and putting back together the 60 year old unit - which makes sense to me.

My "local" Case-IH New Holland dealer said they didn't exist anymore and they didn't even have a parts book that listed the power steering unit.

I was able to get all the seals and gaskets for mine a year ago from IH. I also bought a manual for it. there is a shim/gasket you will have to measure and order the correct one. I disassembled mine cleaned it up and installed new seals myself and every thing worked great and didn't leak any more. just make sure you mark exactly how everything comes apart.
