Hi I am new here so hoping someone can help.
Picked up a 986 and after getting it home changed all oils and filters and found a defective lube sending unit on mcv , replaced , adjusted clutch ,ta ,dump valve,& trans brake as to blue book service manual , then after using tractor about 20 hrs. lube light would not go out till over 1500 rpm so done some press tests and found pump press way low so replaced mcv pump from HI Capacity plus rebuilt mcv valve with all new springs, gaskets & o rings , oil & filter again , ( old pump was wore out bad) redone all clutch , ta, ext ext again now every thing is good I thought till after 5 hrs. disking yesterday when I stopped light was back on as soon as I got down to 1500 rpm , now I am lost where do I look ? I am a heavy duty mechanic and have worked on just about everything from D2s to D8s, case, mf , jd , cockshutt but never a IH other than engines :?

I have found that the clutch booster needs to be rebuilt i've had the teflon's leak and that other
Teflon on the spool valve leak and cause your light to come on around about 1500 or below and
sometimes it will make ta shift down in one way I found out was to block the lube lines going to
the brakes and the pressures came up and all I did was rebuilt the clutch boosters and that's what
fixed them

Thanks for the reply . I think I might have found the problem as when my brother went to pick up oil he counted get from the place where we get all our oil from because they were closed so got it from another dealer supposed to be the right oil but then I got to thinking about the oil and rubbed it between my fingers it didn't feel right so started checking I found it is RECYCLED oil , dumped that and went and got oil from our regular dealer and so far no problem's and I know this oil is a good oil as we use in power shift in the Kubota M120 plus Case 1070 and both tractors have over 10000 hrs with no problems . I do have one thing that I have to watch now and that is the clutch booster as I see it is seeping and it wasn't before . Thanks again
