Charlene 's first day at work.

I got my 450, aka Charlene, to my family farm and had my fast hitch cultivator attached. The middle sweep had a broken bolt so I only had 2 sweeps. I drove her around the property and came upon a small field we used to plant cantaloupe. I thought, what the heck, let's see her move some dirt.
I hung her in 2nd gear, dropped the cultivator and took off. It was great to sit up there, the smell of fresh turned dirt in my nose. Water temp never got above 180, no issues other than using a new tractor for me, I kept moving hydraulics the wrong way.
I worked about an hour, turn came back to the house. I had left my phone in my truck, no shirt pocket, so no pics of her working. Here's one after I finished, back at the house.

Thanks Wayne, it didn't look so nice when I found it. It had spent its life working in a cotton field near Abilene, Tx. I spent a lot of time, sweat, tears, and $$ getting her running...and something could break tomorrow...lol

Thanks Fast...she has TWO sets of weights on the rear. I have 3 more sets, should I put another set on? I'm not a fan of filled tires.

Well a 14.9 X 38 holds 84.2 gallons of water, which is 702 lbs,and add some chloride it would of been about 970lbs, so i put 6 weights on each wheel where i had room, so they don't stick out beyond the tire. On my 450 i just put on 5, but that's got the 2 point hitch which is quite heavy. So it's your call.

How heavy do you want it to weigh? A 450 with 15.5x38s no fluid and two sets of rear and one set of fronts weighs right at 7,000lbs..

D, I have no plans of pulling her; just using her on the farm. So as long as she'll pull a 4 bottom plow or disc I have no problem. The guy who did my head job said he's scrapped out a couple 450's, and they both went over 7000. I don't want front wheel weights, Charlene has no power steering. I have 3 more sets of weights for the rear, but don't think I'll need them.

BTW, I used your tractor as a model for mine when I had it painted.

2 sets of weights should be MORE than enough for any kind of normal use. If you ever decide to mount a loader on her, THEN you might want 4 sets of weights.
