I have a 504 Farmall, the lift hiccups. I changed the filter. Pulled the top cover and adjusted the poppet as stated in the service manual, it made no difference. It seems to be slowly leaking down prior to the hiccup. Could the piston be leaking or any ideas?

I see this is your second post welcome to YT! Here is a little funning for you-- "hiccups" is a bodily funnction not a tractor ailment. To me it could mean it is equipped with a fast hitch which settles down from a preset location then raises itself up again to maintain the height. Or the pilot valve that directs the hydraulic supply to high pressure is prematurely activating with a ker-chur-thump noise. Which best discrbes the issue with your tractor?

Thank you for the helpful description of a bodily function. However, hiccup is described in the service manual as a description of a particular lift malfunction that has an adjustment procedure. Procedure preformed and it did not correct the condition. Disassembled and found the issue; In the process of finding parts. Thanks for your help.
