1938 Farmall F20 Progress Questions

Hello all! Well, got to work on the F20 yesterday. Was able to get the fuel tank, air cleaner, and radiator off (Coolant passages are early entirely plugged!). Then got to work on the engine again. Piston #4 is free - now it is jut a matter of getting the crank to rotate so I can get pistons 1 & 4 out. Since the clutch is frozen, I figured I had better start at the rear to see what is going on. Removed all of the bolts for the bell housing backing plate, the U-joint bolts, and the motor mount bolts (figured sliding the motor forward would allow for more work space). Got that done, and the motor slid forward. Took off the clutch inspection plate and WOW - the mice have been busy over the decades. I bet I removed about what seemed like a half of a large bag of potting soil!
Removed the rear shaft bearing retainer, the big nut, and still couldn't get movement out of the assembly (pressure plate throwout bearing, etc.). Decided to remove the ball bearings from the rearmost bearing to see if that would help get the housing cover off. Nothing. Heated up the inner race, pulled that off, still nothing. (Clutch shaft and fork seemed frozen in the housing).
At this point I could rotate the bell housing cover and clutch forks as a whole unit. I decided to then take the pressure plate bolts out through the inspection hole, rotating the cover around. This worked and I was able to pull the whole assembly off the rear as a whole. MAN is this assembly rusty! I'm not even sure if I can get it apart because there is so much rust there. Started then working on the flywheel - heated the large nut and soaked with penetrant. Got the large nut off and now I am stuck on the next step. (I also placed the motor sideways on the frame rails for easier access.
Anyone tell me where to go from here? A big puller for the flywheel? I see there is a pin between the flywheel and crankshaft that has a threaded center - do I pull that pin before the flywheel? Enjoy the photos and video, and as always - thanks for the help!

F20 Episode 5

Put a plate over the end of the crank and use a big "Pulley Puller" to pull off the flywheel. The "Pin" will either slide out or stay on the crank. It is not threaded on the exterior. Its purpose is to keep the flywheel from rotating on the crank shaft.
Good Luck and keep us posted!

Do a quick google search of "pulling F-20 flywheel" and there should be many previous posts on YT including pictures of our homemade pullers. Removing it is the easy part....reinstalling is another story. Nebraska Kirk designed and fabricated a large nut that will pull the flywheel on using the threads on the crankshaft.

I'll do that, thank you! I'm learning all kinds of things while taking this old gal apart. A little different from the post-'39 tractors that I am used to!
