here is the second question:

what color are the shanks? I've seen red, blue, black and of course rust. what color did they come from the factory?

right now mine are a dirty rusty color cause I've been working the garden

I assume you are asking about the Super C cultivator. Generally, they were black. There may have been some exceptions in the less common tools. Spring trips, friction standards, and spring teeth were all black during the Super C years.
