Ken, I don't see where your question was ever answered re mounting the Christmas tree valve on SMTA, I think you are referring to the T on the bottom and it does go onto a solid shaft that hooks to the top of the TA housing to hold the valve upright Hope you got it figured out but if not check out parts book for SMTA.
