Thoughts on value of Super C with 60" Woods mower

Howdy all,

Just a quick question (that I'm sure probably isn't a quick answer).

I'm going to look at a '54 Super C with a 60" Woods Belly mower. The gentlemen who owns it said he used to mow his yard with it but ended up getting a newer zero-turn mower instead.

I've not seen it yet, but per our discussion, the sheet metal is good and the tractor is in overall good running order. It has been converted to 12v and has a new battery. He says the tires are good but a little worn... We'll see. It's been kept inside and he starts it every so often to make sure it runs ok.

I don't remember the model of mower, but he mentioned that it was left handed, and that the bearings were replaced within the last few years.

Anyway, I'll know more when I take a look at it, but he's asking $1900, which seems like a fair price. I'm in NW Indiana if that helps give an idea for value.

From what little I've read so far, most people love their Super C, so that gives me a little confidence that they are good tractors.

I've already got 2 H's, so this would be for mowing and play while the H's are projects.

I paid 2 grand for a similar tractor two years ago. It had newee firestones. I love it.

If as described and a fast hitch it is a good buy with standard drawbar it is a reasonable buy

Sounds like a very good deal to me.

I got one for $1200 but the rears are old. Still hold air & not checked too bad . They are 10 X 36.

I'd rather have a Fasthitch Super C than two Hs, sounds like a good price to me.

The Super C with fast hitch, is one of the sweetest tractor out there, in my opinion.

I know when i started looking at tractors (online) i looked and considered about a dozen, and after i priced tires the condition of the rear tires were the deciding factor. Replacement cost was too great. I got a bigger tractor then i wanted, but the rear tires are about 75%. My .02

Worn tires on a belly mower tractor is a good thing, it wont tear up the grass so bad when turning. I have a belly mower on a H and love it! Price sounds good also.
