Super M part # 9098DA has anyone ever successfully had a bushing pressed into this to tighten up vertical steering shafts. ?????

My "H" had some goober-welding done on thee ends of the bushing areas, to add metal but not so good it bonded to anything on the shaft. Just added some goobers of weld metal to the bushing area. Has worked fine for many many years. .

boring it for a bushing is best, putting a tapered shim in it using lock tite to hold in place is an option. Jim

Not on that location but just had the support near steering wheel repaired. Had rod build back up to original size and returned. Then bored out and 1/8 in brass bushing installed. Good as new.
