looking to replace a 38in rim on a Massey Harris 44 Special. The rim is 12in wide, 40in tall, 34 1/4in measured inside raised middle rib where wedges clamp on to. Was told IH, JD, Case, and maybe Oliver used the same rims. Anyone have any experience in replacing one. I would be interested in new or used in good shape. I am located in NC. Thanks

rims are not specific to one tractor. many use the same rim. as an example the w6, j.d. D, and old massey 44 all used the same 30" rim. the case D, and w4 used the same rim also. just need to look and measure.

That's a standard drop center rim. Width is measured between the insides of the two beads.

From the measurements you gave it is probably a 10x38. That would be pretty typical of row crop tractors of the time.
