Hey guys, I have a 1086. every thing works EXCAPT the 3 point. It has plenty of fluid and filter is good. Every thing else works good. My question is , where is the pump located for the 3 pt., Do I have to split tractor, and 3rd, can the average joe change it himself. I am pretty mechanically inclined. What do you guys think, Thanks

Possibly a bad pressure relief valve. It's located under the seat at the rear if the tractor. 1 1/8 socket needed to remove and replace.

Is it open or closed center model some were closed from what I understand. The open if the Remots have pressuer it should not be the pump and would not think it would be the relief valve.
I would take the top link cover off for the 3 pt and look at the linkage on the right in the rear end. It could have had that come apart. That will keep it from lifting. The U-bolt will come loose and let the bottom link twist off from the top one. At least on the 06,56,66 series it does.
Get a 66 series and solve the 86 series problems.

I've replace the pressure relief valve. Where is the pump located that operates the 3 pt. lift, and is it hard to get to?

take off the three point top link bracket there should be a linkage on the right side that sometimes gets stuck or broken if its ok then the problem is somewhere else.
