SMTA Hydraulics

I just bought a SMTA. I bought it online and it had a front end loader on it. I told him that I didn't want the loader and he took it off before I had it shipped. The problem is, when he took it off, he just put plugs on everything and I don't know what should be hooked up to what. Everyone I find pics of are different. I now have 2 plugs on each side of what I believe to be the tank (just under the gas tank). It has power steering with a pressure line and a return line hooked to nothing and what I believe to be the pump by the distributor has a return and a pressure line hooked up to nothing. Does anyone have a diagram of the way it came from the factory or can tell me what goes where? There is also a lever coming out of the right side of the tank that is not hooked to anything. What does it do? Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks,,,, Mark

Stuff was removed that should stay with tractor and not the loader. Basic hydraulics when built was a port block bolted to bottom of hydraulic pump. Had a one inch and 3/4 pipe thread opening. One inch suction hose run from pump to a one inch 90 on lower right side of hydraulic unit. 3/4 hose from pump to a 3/4 pipe thread 90 on right side of unit. All 1/2 inch pipe thread openings were to operate single acting hydraulics. When lever on the side of hydraulic unit was moved to rear pressure went out and when pushed forward oil flowed back into unit. Lever was operated with a rod from lever to a light bar mounted bracket. Some had a remote control valve to operate double acting hydraulic cylinders. It was mounted on the center housing and connected with tees to the control valve. With that valve the front and rear hydraulic hoses were shorter and extended to the tees. It also was rod operated to light bar bracket. If the power steering was supplied from the hydraulic pump, it was a add on with a priority valve connected in the pressure line before the hydraulic unit or before the remote control valve if equipped. Tractor may have had a aftermarket valve or hard to tell what plumbing added.

This is a picture of one with the remote control valve. If not equipped with the valve hoses were full length and operating rod to valve was dropped.

Here is a pic of the plumbing on mine. All of this is required with power steering and whether there is a loader or not. Damage to the pump will occur if it is run without the necessary hoses and oil.
None of this should have been removed with the loader.

Thanks for that pic. Mine is just like that one just without hoses. Would you happen to have a pic of the other side? I have 4 plugs on that side also. May supposed to be plugged off. I just don't know. I ordered an operators manual last night and may get some insite from that also. Thanks again, Mark

If he took all the hoses you got screwed. I
just priced all new hoses for my Super MTA
Diesel and it was well over 350 for them.

Wreckmaster, Here is the left side of mine. No hoses cause it's under construction. The ports at lower right of pic are work ports, one goes to the rear and one toward the front. Only thing else is fill/level and drain. When the previous owner removed the loader controls it probably left no where for your dangling hoses to go.
good luck with it.
Dennis
