806 Shift Linkage

I have a problem on an 806 fwd/reverse shift linkage. This is on my brothers tractor and he has sent me a picture of the problem to post. We're needing information on what has to be replaced and maybe where to get it.

The picture shows a ball/socket where the socket on the adjustment rod is worn and won't stay on the ball of the shift linkage. The question is whether this is a one piece ball/socket where both have to be replaced as a single part or can the adjustment rod with the socket be replaced and pressed onto the ball.

The second question is where could we get the part and what to order.

Help is much appreciated, as always, Bob

Yep as said below YOUR FRIENDLY LOCAL CASE IH DEALER. Now if your in a BIND you can take a small drift punch and reswedge it as i have done many times to keep a tractor going till the parts came in . NOW the biggy here on the 06-86 si clutch linkage adjustment along with T/A dump valve adjustment. when they get out of adjustment and start getting hard to get out of gear people start tugging on the shifters . THEN the problems start . So you may before your done , you may need a new range shifter cover , cam , rollers , springs , and a rev. shifter rod and shifter rod .

Thanks for the information and all the replies. I've seen the Helm types before. Looks like those would be an improvement. We'll see if we can get him going. Spring is here.

Appreciate it, Bob

Well, my brother got his linkage back together and the 806 is shifting like an automatic transmission. He never exaggerates.

He said to tell all you how much he appreciates the help.

Thanks a lot, as always, Bob
