340 hydraulic pump

My engine driven hydraulic pump seems to be leaking into the engine. I would like to rebuild but it seems to be a strange type.
The IH parts manual lists Thompson, and Pesco pumps. Mine is a Cessna. I have seen used pumps off 340s that are Cessnas.

Anyone know what the deal is, or how I can get parts.

Best is remove the pump and take ghe gear off them you can take it apart . Take it to any auto place they can get you a new seal and if the shaft is worn get a speedy sleeve if the shaft is worn so the new seal will work. You wont now whidh seal it is till its apart. Make sure when putting it back together to bend the washer holding the gar so the gear cannot come loose Thats why you need to take the part with the shaft along to see if the shaft will need a speedy sleeve.

If the pump is still making good pressure, the bushings are OK. The seal is going to be a single purchase (and not from Cessna).
You will find it to be either an Oring, or a conventional steel ring with neoprene lip. Chances are it has worn a groove in the
shaft. If it is Oring, putting a Speedy sleeve on the shaft to renew the seal surface makes it too big to get into the housing.
Machining the housing is needed (a few thousandths) including the Oring groove. If conventional seal, the speedy sleeve and new
seal work well. Apply a dab of petroleum jelly to the seal when installing it to make sure it is lubed on startup. Jim
