Help please... We were using the tractor to plow almost three feet of snow when the rear wheel was not working.

What appears to be the rear wheel hub clamp broke into two pieces and I am very sad

I am trying to determine how best to confirm this is the actual part and where can I go or order the part.

REAR WHEEL HUB CLAMP (S/N 37214 up) This is from the on line parts manual caseih.com. Jim
Product No: 6192DC
Likely salvage yards. Jim

If the axle also spun without wheel turning it's possible the cast wheel part that goes in the axle keyway is also stripped off. You need to get the four clamp bolts out that may be bent now to remove the parts. The one piece clamp is pretty easy to find used. Could send you one in a USPS flat rate box if no luck. But think you can find local in most places. Sometimes clamp bolts are loose or one or more snaps and leads to your problem.

"Rear wheel hub clamp for a Farmall H" should be enough to get you the part at most any tractor salvage yard. IH made something like 400,000 Farmall H and Super H tractors, and the clamps are all the same from the first tractor to the last.

Look in the yellow pages for a tractor salvage yard nearby.

I've broken two of those. One on my 1950 H, and one on my 1953 Super M. In both cases it took out the hub as well. First time I forgot to tighten the bolts enough. Second time one of the bolts snapped. Cast doesn't take well to that. I would suggest you seek out a new one. They can be found easily on craigslist, I am sure someone has a scrap H somewhere.
I would also recommend you replace all the clamp bolts with new grade 8 bolts and make sure they are tight.
After driving the tractor around for a few minutes tighten them again.
