Anybody familiar with the process of deleting the TA on an IH 884? Is more required than simply the shaft that replaces the TA unit? I have service manual coming, but I doubt that the delete process would be addressed therein. TIA

If it goes like the 06,56,66 series it will take 2 splits. Then you will have the holes to plug in the housing behind the MCV, also there is a through shaft that has a hole for the oil to get to the bearings.

The TAs in the UK-built utilities are entirely different from the 06, 56 86 series tractors built in the US. I've had the TA problem worked on twice by a very competent local IH-specializing repair shop, but each time it very quickly began failing in Direct Drive. I presume that certain parts that are not normally replaced are worn too badly for the normal TA overhaul to resolve the problem. While I really liked having the TA when it was working well, I now just want to delete it.

Hi, my brother had a T/A delete installed in his 684 about 10 years ago by a retired IH mechanic. Basically did the ITT manual replacement procedures for T/A but put in a delete shaft and removed the small T/A hydraulic pump and capped off the hydraulic lines for the pump.
