I can't get the pto to turn on. The mechanism that engages it is working fine (clicks over center) but it seems the pto brake is still on. I can manually turn the output shaft with a big pair of pliers. I had the rockshaft cover off and inspected the clutch pack and it looks good. Is there a valve somewhere that can be stuck not allowing oil to the clutch pack?

Hi, down under the foot rest where the hydraulic filter is attached to the MCV valve, on the upper right corner of the MCV valve
you will see a connection to the PTO valve that is under a rubber boot. Most times the problem is just junk that has gotten behind
the seat and is interfering with the PTO engagement mechanism. First thing is to take your favourite penetrating oil and spray it
all along the PTO engagement mechanism and also inside the rubber boot while working the PTO lever. If that doesn't fix the
problem then you will require a hydraulic gauge and a manual to test the PTO hydraulic pressure at the test point by the MCV
valve.

Can the pto valve be removed from the mcv? if not where is the check port? I'm relatively sure there is no pressure going to the clutch pack. Is it common for an oring to blow that precludes oil pressure to be deliverd to the pack?

Hi, see the link to parts diagram. Do you have power steering? Sometimes the priority valve sticks in the MCV and the hydraulic
oil is divert to 3pt and remote. If you have remote outlets try dead heading remote outlets and the shock to the system may free
the priority valve.

Archive from Bernard le mecano:
The pressure goes to the PTO clutch pack by the rear PTO shaft, by 2 seals rings. If you can check the pressure, it should be
about 185 to 200 psi, at the small T on the left side by the MCV. There is a gasket, that blows, under the MCV valve, that may
cause the PTO to have no pressure.

I'm not sure which spool is the priority in the mcv is but I doubt it would hurt to clean them all. Power steering works normally and I tried shocking the remotes (accidently). I'm still wondering how the pto brake works...spring loaded, hydraulic pressure or what. Ill check pressure at the check port. Thanks a million for all the help!

I removed the mcv from the side and the gasket under the backing plate had torn so I cleaned all the spools and replaced the gasket...sure to have fixed the problem. Still won't engage...feels like the brake and the drive are working against each other. Next is a pressure check.
