CUB OIL PAN GASKET

I need to replace the oil pan gasket and looking at the pan , it has three bolts at the rear that seem hard to reach unless the motor is separated from the clutch housing . Is there an east way to reach these to remove and install ? The manuals give no clue .

Many years ago I replaced the pan gasket on my Cub. As I recall I used a 1/4 inch drive socket with a universal joint and a 6 inch inch extension. I took my time doing it and all worked out well. There was no need to take anything else apart.

Yes, you just need to be creative with your wrench combinations. There should not be much torque on those bolts.

Maybe when you put it back together use socket head bolts. Bondhus makes ball end allen wrenches that work real well.

This is the perfect job for HF's kit of various sizes of wobble extensions.

Thanks guys . Looking at it closer today , I might be able to get in there by swivel joint socket or bending a wrench to fit in . I also found a bolt , on the front end , that the head is broken off . That may be the hardest one to get out . The gasket is decayed badly and will have to be replaced .The high pressure hot water cleaner also found other flaws too .I will attack them one at a time .
