Looking for a place to do machine work near central Ohio. Looking to
have the head gone through. I have the "c" block on my 856. I have
heard these can be bad. I'm doing a rebuild, anyone have a heads up
on where to get a hold of none ribbed block that is not to pricey? I am
still a student. Thanks for your time. Eric.

Is yours a C1? A C1 block has large indentations behind the injection pump and fuel filters. If you are not going to be making it into a pulling tractor You will be fine.

The 407 in a 856 sometimes would crack the top of the sleeves , if the cylinder bore is not true , it might be good to bore the block and install .002 or .010 over sleeves

Yes, I believe it is a C1. We probably will try and get 400 hp out of it. I would like to be able to pull, parade, work with it when we are done. Definitely not gonna go crazy with it. I want it to look totally stock when we are done. Any ideas on when to get a block? This tractor is my FFA project. Thanks for your time. Eric.

How much fuel can you put through a roosa master pump , a 1456 and 915 high profile combine had the 4 roller pump and also larger wrist pins , might be a good engine to start with
