Model A Farmall died going up an incline

I have recently purchased a 1939/40 Farmall A, Crank start only. It starts and runs great.
However yesterday going up a slight incline she died like it ran out of fuel. Took a bit of
work to get it started again. Fuel tank is about 1/2 full. Any fixes for this?

Most common is water or trash in the tank. A slug of water will kill it easily. Trash in the tank can cover the outlet. There is a screen in the sediment bowl, and a screen in the fitting at the carb as well. Jim

My W-4 did the same thing. Some smart guys from this site helped me figure out that the previous owner had replaced the sediment bowl with an in-line filter, and the filter size was too small. I put the biggest one in that I could find and problem solved.

If you have something floating around in tank clean tank and install one these that will stop junk floating in tank from plugging outlet to sediment bowl.

I gotta jump in here with Beatty...That gas tank filter is the best thing i have bought for my 450. I had to shim mine with a piece of coke can, but works like a charm.
