Are there any methods, ID plates etc to determine when a unit rolled off the production line? Thanks for your replies!!

Well by the serial number and the casting codes.

Thank you, I did some searching of casting codes here on YT and found what I was looking for. My 400's block casting code is 2-10-A. "A" representing 1955 and the serial number says its a 1956. Just bought the tractor last Monday and its block was cast on my birthday! I was born in 1960... kinda cool!

Tractor serial number or engine serial number can tell the month and year assembled but being sure about a certain day is out in most cases.

So what has the the F code, or the 1960 MfG ?

That's a pretty early cast date on the block for a 56 model. Feb-10-55 is a low chance of being in a 56 model when built. Could be a messed up casting to read of you missed a 1. Like maybe 12-10-A. Engine serial number would answer that question.
