Aftermarket 3 point

I think the one I have on my SMTA is Worksaver. Mine is old but a few years back you could still find them. some of the features are similar to the Saginaw, 2 hydraulic cylinders and you can have it float or have down pressure depending where you put a pin. what tractor are you putting it on? I use the regular drawbar with mine and works fine except the 3 pt arms will come down on the drawbar at times before implement is deep enough

You could look for a Cornhusker brand too, it was almost identical to the Saginaw, i bought one almost 40 years ago. They were made somewhere in Nebraska.

If you can cut and weld, they are not too hard to build. My dad has bit at least four over the years for M, MD ,Super MD and his Super MTA diesel. You need a welder, Oxy/Acetylene torch and a metal cutting saw. Pictures or another tractor to go by are a big help. On the ones he built, he has a drawbar that will pull an offset harrow and a Athens disc plow.

I have a Sagninaw 3 point hitch on the back of a Super M. I purchased it in 2003 or 2004. It was only used for a 3 point blade for a handful of times. I bought a different yard tractor with a 3 point hitch a year later and it was never used afterwards. It has the 2 hydraulic cylinders on it. Again, it is essentially brand new. I cannot recall, but I think it cost me around $700 or $750 when I bought it. I also have a friend of mine who has one that has been used quite a bit. That one may be a Cornhusker. If it is something you might be interested in, perhaps we can connect via e-mail.

Well, depends on money. Steiners have one
but about 1k dollars. I have what I beleive
is a used Saginaw I have 300 for. After
looking at it, someone could build one
pretty easily. Not for the price I paid for
it but cheaper than brand new.

I was looking around for a 3pth for a 460 I just got. The best price I've found for one is $690 plus shipping, and this includes the 2 cylinders. Found it on:
http://www.tonystractors.com/ih3ph.htm

I sent him an email with a couple of pics and got a brief reply that shipping would be less for me as it comes out of Missouri. Looks like a nice setup!

Have an update on the 3-point hitch I mentioned. Tony (www.tonystractors.com) said the manufacturer was Cross and that they're out of SW Missouri. It has 2 double acting cylinders. Now here.s the great part - he called today with a shipping quote. $128 to a local town by truck (no lift gate service) or $185 if sent UPS to the same town. Guess I'll have an early Spring project!! :D

Looks like the same hitch that MWZad got:

Yes looks to be the same hitch, best of luck with it! They go on very nice and you can tell a lot of thought went into them. Now if only I can get my hydraulic situation figured out.... :x

Yes, have been reading about your experiences. Will be placing my order tomorrow. Hoping everything works out ok once it gets here.

I still have one remote available (my 460 has 3) so am hoping it will be an easy setup.

One thing I've found strange is that there are no long hoses on this tractor, other than on the FEL. Otherwise, all the hoses are between 2' to 3' and either going to T's or quick couplers. ...Maybe someone scavenged shorter hoses to make longer ones?

Thanks for all the responses fellas. I emailed Tony and he is getting me a price with shipping. Looks like it should work well.

...Hope I didn't break the rules about "No Advertising". But in my research, this was the best-looking hitch I found with the lowest price, and it INCLUDES cylinders!! All I need to find out now is what port size/thread the cylinders are.

I've also seen some 3-pt's with a single cylinder, but on one side. That, to me, would make prime conditions for unequal forces on the hitch or where bolted to the tractor.

I had an older tractor that had a single lift cylinder, but in the center. Worked great! Looking forward to trying this one. Until then, will just have to settle for looking at a poster of MWZad's 3-pt!! *LOL*

Yep, Tony's was the place I forgot.

I also agree the double cylinder is the way to go. Just be prepared to ballast the front end, because if my math is right on cylinder size, what it will pick with ease even with the low pressure belly pump, won't allow you to keep the nose down bare bones. :-D

I haven't even started up the 460 since it arrived last week - barely been outside at all!! Need to test and see if the valve for my open remote has a float setting. Otherwise, will have to figure out best way to have selectable gravity or power down settings.

Well by shear chance I looked at Craig's list today for the first time in months. A fella about 30 miles from me had a Saginaw 3pt advertised. Barely used and already off the tractor. I managed to snag it for $525. Me thinks me did pretty good.

Great buy! Best of luck, you won't be disappointed!
