Im working on a F14 Farmall that's been sitting in the woods for 40 plus years,Ive rebuilt the motor and Ive made this old tractor pretty straight.I tried to start it and it started fairly easy, but would not run without choke on.I cleaned the carb completely several times but never worked properly.A friend of mine said its still in the carb, but we found nothing. We ended up drilling out the fuel jet and every thing worked OK.Now my question is why? This is only the 10th one Ive done and the first to drill a carb

Oxygenated fuels (Ethel Alcohol added) require more fuel to counter act the difference in energy within it. Thus richer. Some internal passages may also remain more restricted or resistive to flow. Jim

I saw what Jim said below and my question would be James was it a kerosene or gas carb?
May be different size jets? oldiron29
