International B275 diesel fuel problem

1961 vintage B275 diesel will run with no problems until I go to start it the next day I have to bleed the fuel system to get it running again. Any
ideas what the problem could be? Thanks.

B275 with an inline pump has no separate fuel transfer-pump on the engine. Rotary setup like your's should have a fuel transfer-pump on the side of the engine. It would be the first thing I'd suspect. Fuel from the tank is gravity fed to the injection pump so it seems the injection pump cannot get air-bound when sitting unless that transfer-pump is letting in air. I'd replace it, or just eliminate it.

one thing I forgot to mention was I replaced the fuel return line that runs to the tank with a clear plastic line because I found two spots on that line that had very small holes. While the tractor is running fuel goes to the tank, then when I shut off the tractor the fuel reverses itself and runs back towards the injector pump. Is this normal or should the fuel stay in the line.
