Pulled oil pan should I change plans

I started working this past weekend on what I thought was going to be a head gasket replacement on a B. I had been getting puffs of white smoke and odd color oil. Yesterday I drained the oil and today I pulled off the oil pan. I noticed cream colored droplets on the bottom of the bolts. After 24 hours of no oil in the crankcase, should I be worried this is the sign of failed o rings? Just thought I would ask more knowledgeable people on whether I'm looking at an engine rebuild or just replacing head gasket. I hope these pictures come through.

Since the pan is off look at the bottom of the sleeves and see if theres any leakage there. You must not have anti-freeze or it would be a different color. The head gasket can leak at the rear where a water passage is Just make sure the o-rings at the bottom of the sleeves first arent the culprit

Oil on the bolts more than likely came from oil still inside the crankshaft and around the crankshaft bearings no big deal. If its dripping on the crankshaft from above at the block take a picture. Also take a picture of the bottom of the block around The OUTSIDE of all four of the Cylinder sleeves your looking for a leak from the sleeves Orings. You may not be able to see the Oring itself don't worry about it, If you haven't already mark your plug wires and pull the plugs or just take one off at a time look in the plug holes at the top of the pistons for water. That's the only other place it will leak water. If you find water That would be a head gasket or a cracked cylinder sleeve this leak would be coming from inside the cylinder sleeve looking up from the bottom it would also be harder to find unless you have pressure on the radiator and no thermostat in it. If you find nothing then inspect the lower block inside and outside for cracks. If you find nothing check if its seeping into the pan from an external leak of the water pump or radiator hoses you should leave the pan off a few more days and see if you can spot the leak. If all else fails give it an oil supply and run it with a large drip pan under it and re-inspect all areas. If you find nothing then it may be condensation as previously stated.
Just my thoughts on it
Best of luck with it Byron
