The '46 B I just got came with the magneto lying on the seat of the tractor. Previous owner stated that the couldn't get spark with the magneto and just stopped messing with it.
It is the H4 magneto. I pulled it apart. Everything is pretty rusty. I got the armature out. The bearings have surface rust and the races are pretty pitted.
Is it worth trying to source these parts or should I just put in a distributor? This is not a show tractor, it will be a worker, thus needs to be reliable when I need it.
I'm leaning to getting a distributor but will rebuild the magneto if it is cost effective and reliable.
I assume, in addition to the distributor itself, I would need the drive shaft, distributor housing, and coil.
The tractor will be 12V negative ground.
Thanks for any help yall can provide.
