Help. This tractor runs very poorly at high rpm's. Needs the choke on to Run above idle. According to the drawing there should be a jet in the cut off coil ( number 32). Am I missing it? Also the venturi is very loose. The small and is up. Is this correct ? Thank you

thanks DT. I just got this tractor. I thought it was just dirt in the jet but it is too clean, like someone else has been in there. The venturi is upside down then. I'll let you know tomorrow after I turn it over.

We have 2 674's with that fuel shut off device. One tractor ran about like you say yours does, and running rough, running rich, almost like it was missing as well. The solenoid part of the valve was working, I could see and hear it click and move the needle. I had that carb apart about 10 times to see if I could find anything, which I never could and never did. I had an extra Marvel carb off an 88 Oliver that had the adjustable main jet screw. Well, it screwed right into where the shut off solenoid goes, and it it immediately ran like it used to, perfectly. So I just assumed it must be that solenoid somehow, so I bought a ew one. Put that one on, and it ran just like it did with the old solenoid on it. So I put the adjustable main jet needle back in it and have ran it like that for the last 3 years. At the time, I took the other solenoid out of the other tractor and looked at it, and someone had forces the needle down and jammed a piece of wire next to the needle and soldered it in place, works though. I never swapped that one with the other tractor though, as they are in different locations. The one I mainly use at this farm still has the 88 needle on it, and since it works, I'll probably just leave it that way.

Looking at the picture you posted of the solenoid you are missing the main fuel jet #32 in the parts diagram. The main fuel jet screws into the solenoid, and when replacing the solenoid you need to reuse this jet. I need to look at the carbs that I have on the shelf I'm thinking that I might be able to get you a picture of the jet installed in the solenoid.

I found a solenoid today with a main load jet in the end. I took a couple pictures with my phone but I'm having a problem getting the pictures to my computer. If you would like give me a call 507-438-8172
