IH parts manual question

Recently I purchased parts manuals for "H" and Super H tractors. I was dissapointed as they did not list certain parts by serial # breaks. For example, when the battery was moved under the seat of Super H tractors and the seat was changed.

Did I get some crappy manuals or is that how the IH manuals are?

My manual shows splits by serial number. You have to look closely as they are in the part line items. For example, if a part applies up to serial # X, there will be a new part # for serial X+1.
Hope this helps.

I know my Super C parts manual has the date the tear drop head lights changed to the pancake style.

IH ones have the serial break. Off the top my head serial 19234 was the first ones built with battery under seat and the different center housing.

Also if you have a early print parts book or copy of one it won't have the later changes to SH tractors. Later ones that cover all SH sometimes have serial number breaks out from part numbers or below or have note A or B at the part numbers. At bottom of page it will say note A 501 to 19233 and note B 19234 up or something like that. Some parts have different pages for a early and late model with serial number break listed above where the part numbers are.

Binder Books have the latest ones made by IH, it is all there. Those are the books for the 7 tractors I have restored, those are the only ones I will get for other tractors.

I'm GUESSING the FREE on-line manuals didn't meet your needs, since you BOUGHT some paper copies??? Have you looked to see if the FREE on-line manuals have any of the info you need?

(quoted from post at 14:15:23 02/20/17) I agree, you most likely bought a bootleg copy of an early parts manual that doesn't have the serial number breaks because those serial numbers didn't exist yet.

Yep, Id say thats the deal....bummer...well back to the drawing board. Thanks Everybody for the info.
