300 distributor

I seem to be getting oil into the distributor cap on my tractor. Looking at the parts diagrams there is an o-ring at the bottom of the distributor. How much trouble is this to replace and is there any other possible way there can be a seep of oil? The tractor doesn't start well if it sits for any length of time, however shut it down and restart within an hour or so it fires up fine.

The issue is the oil sea on the hydraulic pump It is replaceable, but requires the correct seal. There are several pumps used. Jim

Thanks for the help. The seal that is in sticks up over the housing so it probably is too thick. I had the pump rebuilt several years ago and maybe the wrong seal was installed.
