1937 F-12 engine question

Hey all, A Guy I work with just got his C113 block back from the machine shop. He said they found a small freeze plug (casting plug) after they cleaned the block.

I haven't seen the engine, but he said he doesn't see any spot for the plug to go.

I believe he said it was the size of a dime? (small anyway)

Any input would be much appreciated, Thanks

What do you mean "cleaned the block"? If it was boiled in a standard degreasing vat, you may have just wasted the governor shaft bushing, unless it was removed first. The backing will still be there, but there won't be any babbitt in it. You have to knock that plug out anyway, to fix the bearing. That bearing holds the governor gear against the cam gear. The camshaft and governor will be ruined if assembled without this bearing/bushing. Fritz.
