Are Farmall H tractors reversible like AC WDs are? If so, are any special parts needed? Thanks in advance. Rifman

I did a Super MTA. reversed it, put on a WL42 Westendorf Loader, i used a yellow Farmhand pump on the pto, to run the loader. The power steering ran off the live hyd. The big thing is the transmisson,Getting new shifting rails, poppets, made, to fit under the top cover, i had a guy in South Dakota do that for me!

i remember reading, i think it was in guy fays book, but dont quote me, that the h and m were reveresed for cotton harvesters, and they toyed with a kit to reverese the tractor back to normal when you didnt need the harvester, but it was a pretty labor intense job and didnt work out well.

Reversed cotton picker platform covers have the added rail guides to position the shifter system to clear the ring gear IIRC. Or be creative with brackets to make it work. It is internally symmetrical. Shimming the ring gear will be needed to get correct backlash. Jim

I called around to the southern salvage yards to buy a top cover off a cotton picker tractor, but that's when found out about the guy In S,D. that did mine, it was a quality job.

I should get one of those, have one for forward and one for reverse, hurts too much to turn my neck anymore.
