Have a question on my 560D, in process of repairing some power steering leaks at the bolster valve. Found a small crack in the top of the sleeve that is in the bolster casting. How hard is it to pull the sleeve to replace it? Have a 656 parts tractor that has the same sleeve, or will the complete bolster casting be used on the 560 even though the parts list shows the numbers are different. Looking for the easiest way out, Thanks in advance..

Sleeve is not really held in with anything after you take the guts out. It has two O-rings inside the bolster that can stick pretty tight with another o-ring under the flange. Not sure if bolster is exactly the same as 656 but think it probably is. Do realize that the sleeve is excentric and you turn it to obtain the proper back lash between piston and vertical shaft. That, by the way, is how they get cracked. Trying to turn them in the bolster when they are stuck pretty hard.

Thanks, Pete. Think that's how it was cracked, someone tried to turn it by the way one of the ears looked. Found a good used one at Bates, going to pick it up tomorrow. 656 bolster does look similar, just has no crank hole..
