Farmall H Radiator Studs

Looking to see if anyone knows where I can find radiator studs for my H. I have a used radiator and I see you can still purchase the pads, springs, and castle nut for the studs, but not the studs themselves. Does anyone know where to find them or what size they need to be?

Thanks!

Check McMaster-Carr, or a local fasteners supplier. we have a local bolt place that will make anything you need. Also try a machine shop.

This is just a thought, but I thought about this while (after, actually) struggling to reinstall the radiator on my M.. What if a guy made his own studs, that were long enough to stick out the bottom of the pedestal (with much longer springs). Install thick fender washers, and put nuts on the bottom of the pedestal instead of up inside. This would make the nuts/springs that much easier to compress and install. It would be easier to draw a diagram of what I a talking about, but.. I sure fought with those darn springs and nuts inside that SMALL work area of the pedestal for at least an hour. And hour for two nuts, seems there could be a better way to me.

Just a thought. Actually, if/when I have to remove the radiator again (for full cosmetic restoration).. I will probably try to do it this way.

Actually, just had another thought. There are cotter pins used on the bottom of those studs with castle nuts if I remember right. Instead of those, you could use nylock style nuts. This would prevent having to use cotter pins.

go buy some 7/16" x 2 1/2 manifold studs and u have the proper thing.then when screwed in they will bottom out as they should on the short end.
more advice... if they are siezed in there leave them there and run a thread chaser over them. good way to screw up a rad trying to remove them.

Pretty sure I got studs for my M rad from my local auto parts. They were 7/16 coarse as I recall. I didn't get hung up on the castle nut and cotter pin thing.
