Super A stuck in two gears

I have a 1950 Super A that from time to time will get stuck in two gears and lock the tranny up. From what I read this may be due to wear in the shifter rails or the ball on the end of the shifter. Last time I had it apart to loosen things up, I noticed the shifter rails seemed nice and tight with no slop in them. I have some free time this weekend so I'm goin to pull the pin on the shifter and see what condition the end is in. Anybody have any pictures or dimensions of what one should look like? If its bad I figure I can weld it back up, but I don't really know what I'm shooting for.
Thanks!

Its diameter will be apparent. Just remove the wear, A tight (replaced) pivot pin will also really help. Jim

my c sticks in gears. i usually jack up one rear wheel and rock the wheel and if that does not free it up, i remove the shifter and use a long screw driver to move the rails. trying to shift quick, is usually what causes mine to stick

Side to side wear and front to back wear show up like Jim commented, I just want to add that the profile when looking at the side will almost look like a woodruf key with it rounded out to a larger size at the bottom that fits in the slot of the rail with a little but not a lot of room to spare. That is the way the new one I bought for a 400 was anyhow. Roger
