Farmall super A shifter

I got the A running
had a tree fall into front porch
took out my wife's car and my truck
as well as front porch damage
I still have governor problem
but as I was shifting it started locking up
2 gears at once it seems like
Do I need to get the bottom of shifter
welded up
It never did this before
thanks
 
I think it is a ball on the end. between the ball, and the pivot pin in the tower, it is easy to fix. Jim
