Hydraulic oil in engine

Working on a 300 for a guy. Today I found out the hydraulic reservoir is empty and the engine is way over full. The engine oil is very thin. I'm sure it's hydraulic oil. I assume seal in hydraulic pump is bad.

What type of seals are in the pump?

Are the seals hard to change?

They're just standard seals. Should be able to cross reference them at any good seal shop. Don't think you can get them at a dealer, because the pumps are throw-away, not rebuildable.

What you're most likely going to find is that the shaft where the seal rides has worn a groove and a new seal will not hold for long. In that case you may need a special seal and "Speedi-sleeve" if such a thing exists for that application.

Otherwise, the pump is scrap metal and the only recourse is a new $900 pump.
