Super MTA s

According to Guy Fays records which are really accurate he states 2,705 super mta diesel tractors built. Production started February 1,1954 and ran thru the end of October 1954.

2522 super MTA'S were sold and i have a friend that has a few super MDTA tractors and only around 500 were sold from what i have found out.

Your numbers are way off, they built over 26,000 smta tractors. 64 are documented as high crops, 2705 are listed as diesel. There are some vague records that indicate approx 500 were sent from farmall plant to western steel and tank company in Lubbock Tx and another tank manufacturer and converted to lp gas. The remainder were either gasoline or kerosene/distillate engines.

Sorry that was my 450 D s/N S/MTA is 78228 , Bought it in June 28 ,1990 at one of the big dealer only auctions i use to go to , it was 107 degrees that day and only a hand full of us were there Denny Polk was the auctioneer in the box as he just relieved one of the other guys . I was having a really good day on tractor buying and was getting down to the bottom of the check book when i bought it and the next tree behind it . When you bought thru the barn everything that drove thru was under ride and drive , so when i had done spent all my piggy bank i went out to make sure they were all what they claimed and to see if i would hve to reject any before loading . The only thing i could find wrong with the S/MTA was that one headlite did not work and it had no brakes none and you can not reject for those small problems . It had a ugl loader on it with a blade and covered in hog manure , it started on it's own it charged and the T/A worked as claimed . As i was parking it in line and old fella came up to me and asked if i was the one who had bought it and i told him yep , he said you bought a good one as he had bought it new and gave me the rundown on everything that had been down to it . It has all the M & W stuff and had been rebuilt 10 years before i bought it with new clutch and T/A . It turns out 60 Hp. I have had to put in a new cam lifters and crank and cam gears in it and i have changed it over to 12 volt with a gen. not and alt. Did a nice paint job wright after i got it home and it was featured in the 94 Red Power round up video. she has worked ground planted corn and beans mowed hay raked hay pulled wagons hay rides pulled the Girl Scouts in may paraids and pulled many tractor pulls . and sat on a blower blowing silage up and 80 foot silo . Now it needs a repaint and two ft. tires. And NO it is not for sale so don't even bother to ask as your check book is NOT BIG ENOUGH and the same goes for my 806 i have now . Once i am dead then you can fight with the War Dept. over it and she can be a real witch when it comes to money.

SMTAD went higher than that, 83523 was supposed to be the last number for SMTA chassis. Think I remember seeing somewhere that at least one diesel was in the last 5 or so built. Know of at least two diesels higher than 81848.
