Fasthitch Carryall colors

How would the boards been protected on this carryall? Red for the frame, and was thinking of painting boards cream. But would like to know if IH used paint, stain, or natural. Thanks

I've got a Fasthitch Super C parts book, doesn't say, just looks like natural wood. Looked in my Super C magazine adds from the old days and don't see a carryall. I have seen a rebuilt one some where with some stain or sealer that looked nice which is what I'd use if I had one.

Of course the pictures are in black and white, but my parts manual looks like they are unpainted. If I was going to use it I wound not paint it,for show, I would stain it with a few coats of Polyurethane.

Originally they were unpainted, evidently because they couldn't decide what to do. By the time the other Fast-Hitch tractors came along at the end of '54 they had decided to paint them black.

Wouldnt mind doing a light stain and few coats of spar urethane. Have untreated lumber. Thanks for the replies.

The proper name used by IH was Platform Carrier.
