Has anyone had any luck welding a manifold for a 1468 v8 ? I was gonna try a spray powder product from studdy or if i should try brazing it . or "i'm sure there as scarce as hens teeth" a place that might have a used one ? The only guy that i knew that had these tractors sold out a few years ago and this is one of them .

I not a expert but I have had more luck using nickel rod, preheat to 400 deg, weld and then preheat the area again and let it stand and cool down for a day. the rods are pricy but did well for me. I trying to remember the name of them if I remember right " NIrod " if you want more info I can take a pic with my phone and send it to you.

My dad has brazed up a few manifolds over the years. They've held up fine.

Heck, I've fixed one that had a gaping hole using epoxy putty. It's been like that for 5 years. Completely forgot about it until this thread came up.

Thing is, if you can't find a replacement you've got no other choice... In that case it's in your best interest to research on how to weld or braze cast properly, and do everything you can to make sure you're successful.

You could always fabricate a set of headers for it. Not sure how well they'd work, but if you used heavy enough material they'd be just like the manifolds.
