I have a 1950 C tractor was thinking of installing a temp gauge in it this tractor has know water pump, can I install it in the upper housing on the block where the upper radiator hose connects to or is it not worth it....

They normally do not have issues with overheating. The thermo siphon method keeps the engine nice and warm as it should. A crusty
rust flake filled block will make bubbling noise, and be hotter than desirable. I would spend the effort to clean the block and
flush the radiator. You can put in a gauge, there is no reason not to. Jim
